Doctoral Student in Clinical-Developmental Psychology
Stephanie is a First Nations doctoral student in the Clinical Developmental program at York University. Stephanie is a member of Opaskwayak Cree Nation in Northern Manitoba, The Pas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2017 and a Master of Arts degree in 2024 at York University. For over 8 years, she has worked in the field of Indigenous program evaluation and collaborated on several research studies on community wellness alongside Indigenous scholars and youth. She has clinical experience in providing comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to children, youth, and adults under the supervision of registered clinical psychologists in a variety of settings including private practices and university clinic. Moreover, she has previously worked as a Clinical Coordinator supporting with children, youth, and their families. Taken together, she has experience with a breadth of presentations, including ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, and learning challenges.
She offers a safe, warm, non-judgemental approach valued on socio-culturally appropriate lens. In a collaborative manner, Stephanie strives to meet therapeutic goals set by clients on their journey to positive change and improved functioning in their lives. She draws from a variety of therapy modalities including Cognitive behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
