Jillian Fischer
MACP, RP Student
Master’s Student in Counselling Psychology
Jillian is a counselling psychology practicum student dedicated to helping you build a more resilient, fulfilling life. She enjoys collaboratively exploring and identifying what truly matters to you, uncovering unhelpful patterns together. From her own personal development, Jillian understands that therapeutic work can be daunting and provides a space of compassionate understanding. If you have ever felt alone and desire a supportive presence to face your challenges, Jillian would be happy to work with you.
Jillian has worked in the college system for ten years, where she supports students of diverse ages, demographics, and abilities. A love of teaching and learning has drawn her to integrate various therapeutic approaches including person-centered therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) into her practice. Jillian is certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy – Level 1 and is a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CTIPS). She offers a non-judgemental space fostered by empathy and trust while providing practical tools to create change. She is an ally to marginalized communities, including 2SLGBTQIA+ and Indigenous peoples, and is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive therapeutic environment. Living with chronic illness herself, she has deep compassion for individuals’ invisible struggles, recognizing that not all suffering is readily apparent.
Jillian volunteers with the Big Brother Big Sister program, mentoring young women. Her personal interests include hiking with her senior dog, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places.
