Dr. Ashley Di Battista is a clinical neuropsychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (working with adults), who is currently expanding her practice into child and adolescent clinical psychology under the supervision of Dr. Ken Kwan, Ph.D., C. Psych. She has practiced lifespan clinical neuropsychology – predominantly with children and adolescents, while living in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Di Battista obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Melbourne in 2013.

Dr. Di Battista completed hospital based internships and post-doctoral fellowships in Australia and Canada, including but not limited to: The Austin Hospital, the Epworth Rehabilitation Institute, Peninsula Community Mental Health Service and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, as well as the Community Head Injury Resource Service (CHIRS), the Hospital for Sick Children and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Canada. While in Canada, Dr. Di Battista worked at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and prior to joining PCSG, she was the Lead Clinician at CAMH’s Neuropsychology Service for Complex Mental Health.

She has taught undergraduate psychology and developmental neuroscience courses at the University of Guelph-Humber and the University of Toronto – Mississauga. She continues to enjoy lecturing at Ontario based universities and colleges whenever she can – most recently, teaching Atypical Development at Trent University.

Dr. Di Battista has had an active research career and published many articles and abstracts in peer reviewed neuropsychology, psychology and medical journals. Her research focused on children and adolescents during her tenure at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto) and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia. At the heart of her research was the goal to promote and encourage the best possible outcomes for children, adolescents, their families and health care practitioners. This work has included many health and neurologic conditions, spanning diabetes, cancer, traumatic brain injury, prematurity among others.

She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and has been an invited reviewer for many international peer-reviewed publications. Her research has been awarded grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA), the Brian Foundation in Australia, among others. She was the second ever recipient of the National Neurotrauma Society’s Women in Neurotrauma Research Visiting International Scholar Award in 2008.
